I finally had my shifter bushing that goes from the shifter in the car to the cable fail. I had the one on the transmission side fall apart back in 2017 and replaced it back then. I didn't youtube or do anything like that then so as I replaced the one that failed tonight I made a quick impromptu video on where it is and how to replace it.
For both ends, I used the Dorman 14055 - Dorman Transmission Shifter Linkage Bushings that I picked up at a local part store back in 2017. It's a multi-pack so the other bushing has been in my toolbox until tonight.
Here's the video I tossed together real quick as I replaced the part.
Thanks three years ago had new cable installed when mind broke, and now I hear the cables are hard to get, so next time with your help I'll do it myself.
Rock Auto has cables for about 35 dollars. I just bought one in case I need a replacement. Great video, thanks!
I'm going to have to buy one! Luckily the 5 years I've had the car I haven't had an issue with the actual cables. Just one bushing the year I got it and the other this week.
