Power options.....
I obviously want more power. I have looked at twin screws, centrifugals, & stroker. My tuner isn't fond of the twin screws/PD blowers on the ls3. I like the thought of a bigger c.i. engine (416) , but everyone keeps saying centrifugal. Based on liking curves & not drag racing in the past 10 years, what would you fine folks do??
Note, stock C6 ZR1 with TVS2300 ls9 making 620HP, you end up using PTM so your not roasting the tires out of every corner due to the linear torque that the super charger creates even down low.
So back off difference or tires you running, the less down force/how you have the suspension set up, and this will give you an idea of the amount of HP that you want to back off to keep the car balanced between HP and handling.
Hence too much power may make you faster by a second down the straight, but can cause you be 10 seconds or more slower in the technical sections instead.
If you want to go super charger (bad choice since will need to run a meth kit that you will go through gallons of meth in less than 20 mins), then TVS is more controllable power than the mid hit of a centrifugal super charger that just brings the breaks loose/swings the back end out during the hit on the way out of the apex. And again, depending on how the car is set up, may only want around 500HP to keep the car balanced between power and handling which is very doable with a LS3 in NA.
Huge Note here: you show up on a track with less out than SCCA Pro licenses, in less than say a T1 built vet, making more than say 700hp, there is not way in hell that any track management will allow you to run the car on it for your own safety reason.
So to sum it up, easy to decrease your lap times by just finding and using the right lines with correct suspension set up, then to try to man handle the track with sloppy/less than ideal lines, and more HP making the problem worse instead.
