I have GM Speedline wheels, the inside coating will come off with some elbow grease. It appears to be chrome which would be easier to clean and
look better IMO. Has anyone removed the coating?
My 2010 chrome OEM wheels had a rough machined surface. They collected brake dust and dirt. Painted them gloss black. They were easier to keep clean. I liked the look. The chrome stood out against the black background.
I cleaned my old OEM star wheel barrels and yes they were chrome but rough. I sanded them smooth and painted them with chrome paint. I swapped then out a few years later and sold them, so I'm not sure how they stood up. My new wheels are gloss black, with machined faced. The black barrels certainly show the dust.
