Default New Corsa Throwing Code

installed a Corsa X pipe and Corsa Sport exhaust today. Sounds awesome but when driving it home I see the check engine light on.
The previous exhaust on my 2005 base was a 3" Z06 NPP the previous owner put on it. Any idea why I would get a code going from the 3" NPP to a 2.5" Corsa?
Have not had a chance to check the codes yet but thought I would ask if anyone had a similar issue.

Sounds like a coincidence to me. I’ve changed out plenty of different exhaust systems and never had that happen. Now when I installed headers and a off road x pipe yes check engine light, but I knew that was coming until I got a tune.

Curious as to what code you pick up. Please report back. Good, luck.

Check for a vacuum leak. The NPP uses vacuum to operate it. So the vacuum line connects to back of manifold and goes all the way back to the muffler actuators. Corsa on the 3 inch system provides a plug you put in the hose by back bumper.

It’s not from changing the exhaust, it’s coincidence. I’ve never seen proof that mufflers caused a car to throw a code. Now on some of these newer vehicles I could totally see some of them being that sensitive, but not the c6

also have a Z06 3" NPP for sale with the H pipe. The h pipe has been modified to bolt up to the 2.5" collector.

Can't help without knowing what code(s). Could be something totally unrelated to the exhaust.

Did you loosen any nuts up front near the O2's to adjust the exhaust? If so you might not of got a good seal and it is messing with the sensors.

Code is PO449 Evaporative Emission control system vent valve/solonoid circuit malfunction.
I see there is quite a bit of info on the forum so Ill start there. Thinking we may have knocked something loose when installing the new exhaust system.

Also check for an exhaust leak at the front of the x-pipe. I know when I did one on my previous C7, I left off the metal gaskets that were on the factory x-pipe as the replacement (Borla) didn't come with them or with any directions. And while it looked like it mated and sounded good, it threw an emissions code. Ordered new metal gaskets (the originals were basically welded to the factory x-pipe), put them in and problem solved.

Grpweld the Sports sound great with NO drone. My previous 3" NPPs would drone badly at low rpm on the highway. These are definitely quitter on the highway but bark when you want them to. I even get a nice little burble between gears.

Ditto except for the NPP's . Mine is the typical CatBak Corsa Sport. Sounds great, burble on deceleration and paddle downshift. Have Borla on SRT-10 and Corsa on Challenger - Vette Corsa are excellent! FWIW

Problem solved, the wire connecting the control module pulled out.
Almost looks like the wrong control module may have been used as there is no locking tab on the module to hold the connecting wire.
Code cleared and working well, thanks for helping me figure it out.

Thanks for reporting back and letting us know what the issue was.

Glad you got it straightened out. Now go out and make some noise.
