Default Class 2 data, GM LAN, serial data help

I have a 2006 c6 that I’ve been trying to get to start for several months now. I’m not too versed in things like class 2, gm lan, or serial data line stuff. Think that’s where my problem lies. From what I understand, each module is daisy chained with this class 2 data network and if one module goes bad then the car won’t start and the car will think that everything else is bad. Tell me if I’m wrong. Im thinking that my ebcm is bad because my power steering fluid can is empty and I’m thinking that a power steering hose blew near the ecbm causing it to go bad. My question is, if my ecbm were to go bad would that keep my car from starting? The car’s dash just goes blank when I press the start button. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, a bad EBCM can keep the car from starting…to effectively diagnose these CAN bus issues it’s helpful to have a scan tool that can talk to all modules, a labscope, and a breakout box…your best best is take the car to an auto-electric shop…they do this stuff daily…what part of the country are you in ??…2 videos below to help and there are many more on YouTube !!..and what was mentioned in one of the videos…this type of diagnostics is a little more complicated !!

gm high speed lan bus,

Class 2 bus,

So down and dirty, get a Tech II connected to the car to see if you pick up all the modules on the high speed bus to start with.

If EBCM is bad (or its connector), then will not be able to pick up anything down line of it, like the ECM.

As for problems on the class 2, main one would be loss of communication from the BCM to the RCDLR, while would prevent the car from starting.
