Default Help Identify Unknown Connector

Can someone tell me what this is? I found it while I was looking for the OBD port. It was just above the pedals, tucked into the dash and not connected to anything. lt's about the size of a lamp socket. Car is a 2008 A6 3LT w/Z51 package. I'm thinking maybe it's a connector for an option I don't have.

Looks like something someone previously added. Not a factory connector.

looks like a connector for a cigarette lighter plug to go into.

Did you purchase new, or 2nd hand? My guess, prior owner wanted an extra power port and this might be that connection.

I bought the car used. And yes, I just googled "cigarette lighter socket" and found similar looking connectors. So it was definitely added by someone. I'll leave it alone for now unless it gives me a reason to remove it. Feeling a little dumb for asking now but oh well. Thanks for the input!

Might have been added by a previous owner as a connection point for a battery tender instead of using the cigarette lighter socket.

Good call. That would make sense.
