Default Top end kit

Which is a better NA top end kit for a max street set up. Trick flow 225 heads and LG g4x3 cam, ported fast 102 and 102 tb, or trick flow 255 with g4x3 and ported rod mod ls3 intake 102 tb. I will be ordering heads through TEA just not sure which is optimal set up have read conflicting info on 255 heads on stock ls2. I want to keep stock cubes for awhile as car only has 15k miles but will prob stroke when needs rebuild and would like to transfer heads but current conditions are most important as it will be a long while until I stroke. I'm also open to other suggestions on hci combos as well.

G6x3 cam with either the tea ported 215 or 225 heads, flycut pistons, run a thinner gasket for quench and around 11:8-12:1 on 93, ported msd intake, would be a good n/a combo

I made 508 on a sbe ls6 with the tea 215’s, smaller g5x3 cam on 114lsa through 4.10 gears so it’s possibly close to 520 with stock 3.42’s

if your going to spend the money go with a Custom spec Cam motions or just one of their shelf cams or BTR, GPI, TSP or Vengeance cams no need to flycut the rod modded stock LS3 is solid and cheap but their are other options like the BTR trinity and Holley sniper along with the Fast brand intakes if you just want a different look is your car a A6 or M6 ???

My car is a manual. Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking of contacting Pat G for custom cam and build advice,, alsoI was looking at gpi for the rod mod intake if I go ls3. Do you think the ls3 top end will be too big and hurt low end? I'm torn between going tf 255 with ls3 intake or tf 225 with fast. I was between SC or heads cam for the longest time and have decided to go na, now I'm trying to decide which na lol. I'm also contemplating going with a cartek 3x or 4x package as well.

If you don't over cam the thing, LS3 heads won't hurt low end performance. I have no idea the specs on LG's cams. Never would consider installing a "secret spec" cam. Pat G is an excellent option for cam design. If you do go LS3 heads, the ported and rod modded stock LS3 intake manifold is hard to beat price and performance wise. Some aftermarket stuff will outshine it a little above 6000 rpm, but often with sacrifices below that RPM.

You can spend $800 bucks for ported LS2 heads all the way up to over $5,000 for pro ported aftermarket heads.

Thanks oldmotorhead, I appreciate the info. I'm leaning towards buying tf heads from TEA. I think I'm going to contact Patrick G and have him spec me a ls3 top end build. I am just a little unsure as I've read alot of posts and articles saying cathedral heads are the way to go on ls2 and I've seen the cartek and tf/LG set ups running in the 10's.
