Default 2006 Base model 1/4 mile time question

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I would like some thoughts/opinions if my car is consistent with other like models. I have a basically stock c6 base model with the automatic trans. Only mods are a Vararam CAI and Borla S Type II axle back. Yesterday I made one run at the track. 70*and beautiful out. Here is my time slip and I am the left lane. I ran the car in sport mode with traction control off. Staged at half throttle and once I let off the brake and it rolled just slightly, I hammered it. I am running Continental street tires 285/35/19. She spun just a tad then hooked nice. Does this time seem consistent for my model car? Thanks in advance.

Looks about right to me. My stock 06 A6 ran high 12s in warm air. My best all stock run was 12.58 but it was fairly cool out (50s). I do remember without a tune if I hot lapped the car instead of letting it cool some it seemed to drop 1 mph and .1 et.

My LS3 ran 12.27@117 with a 1.988 60’ time. Get that 60’ time down (drag radials and converter is best way). I’m doing headers and Midpipe with my Borla S along with a Yank SS3600 converter. Hoping to get my 60’ time down to 1.60 or so. Should get my ET down to mid 11’s.

I have thought about getting drag radials but I mainly wanted to see what she will do in street form first. It hooked pretty nice but then again I left at half throttle. My car actually hooks better on the street from a dead stop than it does at the track. Looking at my time slip and comparing to seat of pants feel…I think my car is good for a 12-5-12.6 in its current state.

Eventually I want to add headers, cam, 102 intake and a professional tune. Once I do I hope that puts me in the low to mid 11’s.

Your car is an LS2? There is definitely room for a bit of improvement. I wouldn’t base your performance off of one run either. From the way you described the launch I’m a little confused, how were you at half throttle on the launch? I also think you should try hitting the gas right from the get go vs rolling then going. You could also try flashing the converter and also loading up on it. Not all cars run the best times the same exact way.

Yes mine is an LS2. I should have clarified better. The time slip I posted was my last run and best one so far. I was only able to make one run that day. My previous best run was 13.45 @ 107.8. I have tried multiple launch techniques and the last one seems best for my car.
When I say I launched at half throttle. What I mean is I stalled it with the pedal about halfway down. Once I let off the brake and it moved I hit the floor with it.
I’ve tried leaving the line with the pedal to the floor and it rips the tires loose on the launch resulting in a 2.5 60’.
My last pass I had very little tire spin so I think I could’ve left a little harder.
My car will only stall up to 2000 rpm with the pedal all the way down but spins pretty good if I launch that way. Thanks all!

I should also mention that I just bought this car in July so I am still learning it 😁.

Those times are right on the money for a near stock 06.
