Valve Drop
looking into LSX iron block as opposed to staying with aluminum. Although I watch Reese proven motorsports YouTube channel they have good results staying with the aluminum blocks and superchargers . near future I will super charge after recover from two Engine builds.
my question:
the added hundred pounds on my front end how much will that upset my front / rear weight distribution. Slightly or noticeable? if noticeable how do I correct that? Coil overs or ? Thank you guys for the input ahead of time.
If auto, then swap over to new spring up for automatic (Fe1 to Fe2)
Hence auto cars have about 100lb more in the front weight from the auto trans than the manual cars, and there are two different springs in the Fe1, Fe2 and Fe3 front trans springs for this.
The added weight dropped the hight a bit in the front causing additional issues up driveways via impact to the lower radiator support. Eventually I remedied this with a set of coil-overs allowing me to easily adjust ride-height and rake to desired settings and corner weight.
I DID give up quite a bit of comfort (over leaf/shock) but it's not a daily driver.
The additional weight didn't seem to affect the handling once alligned/corner weighted and proper sticky tire (R888R's). I also upgraded the breaks to allow for the additional weight and better breaking.
I've never timed/tracked the car so I couldn't give you exact specifics.
Like Dano stated, a stiffer leaf (and upgraded shock if not already installed) will most likely be all that's needed for only an additional 100lbs.
