Default throttle body/pvc issue

On my 07,coupe I've had trouble clearing code for MAF sensor. Did the usual and even changed MAF sensor to no avail. Further checking wiring and connector I noticed a tube with a fitting that crosses over the top of the engine and appears to mount directly behind the throttle body. It appears to have broken off at the location in one of the pics attached. Does anyone know what this is and what I need to do to fix it? Is it a separate problem or could this be reason the check engine light is still on and throwing P0102 code

That is the vacuum line that goes to the EVAP purge valve…you will have a pretty big vacuum leak if it’s broken there right behind the TB…it can throw the P0102…if you have a scan tool you probably have an EVAP DTC also.

You don’t have a vacuum leak at the intake manifold with the engine running ??

as its a vacuum line. is it possible to tap into the intake and figure a way to insert a tube and reconnect to the vacuum line?

I guess you can jury rig something up that might work…you would have to obtain a fitting that can connect to the EVAP line somehow.

Pull the broken end of the fitting out of the nylon tube by pinching the beige ears. Then source a steel tube that will fit the inside diameter of the broken fitting. Install the tube so it’s half in and half out of the hole in the intake. Use some type of adhesive to bond the assembly back together. The intake is nylon66 I believe. A 13/64” drill fit inside the hole. You could try a 1/4” brake tube from your local parts store and chuck a small length up in a drill and sand the outside diameter while it spins until it fits. I would just use crazy glue. I have done a similar repair and if done right it will be invisible.

the plastic piece that exits the valve apparently broke off If I found something to insert intot the valve and connect to vacuum line, would that work? A little old to be removing the intake and installing a new one I saw a video where The guy drilled into it to insert a fitting/ Really appreciate your help in this. Wonder why it runs perfectly anyway. brought car home like this in a 2hour run???

that is great info I was hoping someone had done this I really appreciate it Like the car in your avatar Once fixed and functional I assume it will turn off dash light Strange thing about this is the only code thrown was for MAF sensor circuit low frequency PO102 and even though I can feel vacuum loss from valve the car runs fine???

A 5/16” quick disconnect fuel line fits perfectly as shown in the picture. You can buy a 12” repair section at the parts store.

You’ll still need to sleeve it. I test fit the fuel line to the connector and it’s a perfect fit.

The car in my avatar is my Superlite Coupe. The engine and wiring architecture is from a C6 Corvette. Even the gauge cluster, hud and rcdlr.

To reinforce it even more you could slide a dual wall with adhesive shrink wrap tubing over the top and heat shrink it over the repair joint.
