Default Cooling mods

I live in Naples FL., where it’s quite hot and humid in the summer. Does cooling mods require a tube of some sort? I wouldn’t think so, but just asking to be sure. Cooling mods would be, Edelbrock HE, Kong expansion tank, upgraded bricks and a 160 stat. Car is a stock 2010 ZR1. Thanks in advance.

Start off by pulling the plastic top plate on the radiator and condenser, so you can garden hose water stream back flush the condenser and raditor out from the back side to clean the derbies out of them so they are flowing correctly from the beginning.
Also, don't forget to back flush the TVS-2300 heat exchange radiator out as well.

Now at this point, and if you do have enough mods to justify trying to keep the motor under 180*, then we can talk cooling mods.
Note, with oil temp not coming higher that that, it's not going to boil off the impurities that is will collect in the oil, meaning more oil changes will be needed to keep the impurities out of the oil that boil off at the normal temps instead. So the few HP that you will lose due to the motor running at normal temps (210~220), is well worth in the long run,so the oil will boil out it impurities instead.

As for C6 ZR1 unless you are high speed road coursing the car, or have over spooled the TVC2300 to turn it into a heat pump, Meth kit with 50/50 mix alone resolves those street heat problems of multi hit/pulls without having to break the bank on other needed items isntead.

Hence downside to the Elelbrock TVS-2300 is the single internal inter cooler itself to start with when its pushed, and why on the Maggy 2300, they were doubles up to hold cooler on a touch more boost isntead.
So yes, you can push the stock unit to 26lbs of boost on the motor, but since it's such a major heat pump at that pressure being spun up that much, better off just taking the 2300 unit off and replacing it with a TVS2750 instead. Hence at say 15lbs of boost and the 2750's larger volume, will not become a heat pump as fast as the 2300 at the same pressure instead.

160 T-stat is useless. DeWitts radiator, larger bricks, expansion tank, Edelbrock HE are all excellent mods. Higher flowing intercooler pump would also help a lot.

The DeWitts in particular would help with not just keeping the coolant at a more stable temp but would also keep the oil cooler since the ZR1 has a block mounted oil cooler that is cooled by the engine coolant.
