Which brand TC do you have now? If it's a Vitesse you can just recalibrate it using the original setup procedure and it should start working correctly. For some reason this is a hiccup with the Vitesse and sometimes they need to be recalibrated.
If I were buying a new TC today it would be the Soler Throttle Controller for the simple reason it works great and is a real bargain at $95.
Does your Vitesse have two buttons or a **** ? I had one of the earlier (2 button) models that would do exactly what you are describing. A recalibration would solve the problem, but it was occurring with more frequency so I decided to have ECS tune the car and be done with it. FWIW my Vitesse was ~5years old at the time it started giving me issues.

Throttle controllers work equally well on a manual or automatic.
Basically a TC allows you to remap the throttle settings. From the factory a Corvettes throttle is only 30% open when the throttle is depressed 50%. I prefer to map mine so it's 50% at 50%, which mimics an old school carb and throttle cable. If nothing else most think they make the car more enjoyable to drive.
I do have the Vitesse what is the calibration procedure?
JUNK! That thing is a menace ! Threw mine in the trash. Recalibrated it several times. It would sometimes bring the throttle up to 5000 RPM! I had to shut down car to get it to stop. The company does NOT offer support. Wait for the Soler.
Solar has worked great for about a year for me. No problems whatsoever. After adjusting it a number of times the first month I set it at Sport Mode 5, got used to it, and I haven't changed it since.
Thoughts on this Chinese knock off? Heck, I'd imagine they all come from the same source, including Soler's?
I may just try it - if it doesnt work, easy return to Amazon..........unless it causes the throttle to stick and shoves me and my Z into a tree and Im no longer around to do the return.

wanted to post up my thoughts
this is on my 2008 Z06.
I had the Pedal Commander brand on my 2008 base and it really really made that car much more enjoyable.
the packaging and fit and finish of this Chinese brand is top notch. The connectors are top notch, OEM quality. I can’t imagine the US sold versions are from a different source- my guess.
so it works perfectly. I started around P2-3 and it was too much and actually raised the idle - I don’t recall my base C6 doing that. Maybe just difference between the two motors. Or could be this controller is just much more sensitive or settings provide differing levels of response.
I dialed it back to like P1-3,4 and idle is now normal and pedal response is awesome!
so for the price, id say go for it. Good thing about Amazon, easily returnable
