Default Cam Options c6 ls2

So I recently picked up a 06 A6 and have already began looking for upgrades to the car. I know Cams are a must for a ls engine but I do live in California and not trying to get pulled over for the loud cam.Is there any quieter cams or options?
*don’t want to go with a ghost cam tune because I’ve only heard negative *

A cam change by itself is not going to make the car any louder. Your problem won't be how loud the car is ... Your problem living in the communist state of California is with your states EPA laws.

Changing the cam is going to require adjustments to the car's tune ... and in California, any change to the car's computer tune will cause you to miserably fail the smog test.

You basically have 2 choices:

1. Leave the engine alone and enjoy your Corvette for what it is in it's stock form.

2. Leave the state and then modify the engine to your little hearts content.

As others have said, you have no options at all to mod. You can't add a cam as you will need a tune and Commiefornia checks for that. You can't add headers as you wouldn't pass emissions and you again would really need a tune for it.

Comp Cams grind # 146-200-13 has CARB approval. It's a pretty mild grind.

Get you a full Z06 exhaust system. Exhaust manifolds to mufflers. It looks stock so should pass the visual inspection just fine. A tiny cam is not worth doing. They aren't going to look at your cam during inspection anyway. Something like a 222/226 118+4 with .580 lift won't be noticeable with the flaps closed on a set of stock Z06 mufflers. It would probably run just fine on a stock tune. I wouldn't run it on the stock tune all the time, but it would be close enough to run smooth come inspection time. I ran a 226/234 115+4 around for several weeks waiting on a tune. I didn't do any WOT stuff, but it ran fine just cruising around. That's the way I would handle it. You'll have to have a way of switching the tune back and forth.

You might also get in touch with Pat G to get his thoughts on cam selection.
