Default Ceramic coating headers question

I ordered 2” American racing headers for my car and apparently ceramic coating them voids the warranty through ARH. Don’t understand why.

I plan on doing the tunnel plate but what else can be done to help with heat on these cars? Should I say screw the warranty and have them coated anyways?

I’ve never had my headers coated and have not had issues on either car. One was China headers this car ARH.

I’m getting a set of AR Headers installed in a couple weeks and got mine ceramic coated, not really concerned with a warranty. Had several sets of headers and never needed or used a warranty.

I would guess the warranty is voided because the tubes will run much hotter by being coated, which really means they're being insulated, to retain the heat. Also may have something to do with thermal expansion......

If you go with a quality set of headers, (Kooks get my vote over everything else), you will have no need of the warranty.

That being said, I think ceramic coating headers really don't do much. I had Swaintech Whitelightning coated headers and honestly couldn't tell a difference in the heat.

As for what else can help with heat, a sound and heat insulation kit for the interior will help a lot. Exoticvette.com sells a nice kit. I have this in my C6 GS and it cut down on both heat and road noise. Adds a small amount of weight but really makes no perceivable difference. Time consuming to install but can be knocked out in a weekend.

on going with Kooks and not needing a warranty. Ive had my 1-7/8" Kooks LTs on for 17 years/65,000 miles. No problems, no leaks, great sound, great power output. What more can you ask for?
