Took the wraps off and went for a ride in the Country opened it up no one around got to 100mph slowed down and hit it again and selective ride lights came on saying to service the selective ride system. If feels like its running on only 5 cylinders sputters but runs. Tried shutting it down and restarting no change. I really don't want to take it to a Dealer for resolution so I'm coming to the CF Gurus. Anyone have a similar concern or knows how to get it back to a normal state, Thanks in advance I appreciate any help.
My scanner showed a code of P0308 Cylinder 7 misfire detected and that was the only code, I checked all the wiring and felt solid and hooked up now I'm thinking it's internal.
Check the plug for fouling and swap the coil pack and plug wire with another cylinder. P0308 is a cylinder 8 misfire. P0307 is for cylinder 7. If the problem moves to the cylinder that you swapped the pack and wire with, the problem is either to coil pack or plug wire. Then swap one or the other and then you should know the cause of the problem. If the issue stays with the initial cylinder, check if the plug is firing or if you have a fuel delivery issue.

My Tonge got in front of my eye tooth and I typed the wrong number it was in fact P0307 not 08, but not being familiar with the LS-3 (I have Haines shop manual on 2009 vette on the way) where is the coil pack, is that what the plug wire plugs into the injector the pack?
Before I forget thanks for the help.
I know what the coil pack is now, but I'm a little hesitant on pulling on the rubber slug covers as they are really soft and I have to use pliers. Does the aluminum cannister
that is round the plug come with it or does it unscrew from the block or snap off?
is a YouTube video on it. YouTube is a good source on how to do maintenance on your car. Watch several because anyone can post a video, if you know what I mean.
Absolutely. That's a problem on this forum and others. The OP states the problem, others suggest a fix and the OP never updates the thread on their outcome.
Yeah I just saw that I'm good, thanks. Do you want me to let you know what I find?
What does your fuel trims look like with your scanner...you can sometimes tell if ignition or fuel related (clogged injector etc...) by looking at fuel trims...if long terms are 15-18 % or so it can be injector related...around 10 % most likely ignition.
I'll have to get the scanner back on to answer that question, but following the last possibility I switched the plug and wire along with the Coil pack with another Cylinder
and have the same issue. However, I did detect a fuel smell on the no 7 in question but it didn't look wet it looked the same as the other plug I pulled.
I'll put the scanner back on and look at fuel trims, keep in mind this is the first time I've used a scanner, that being said I'll be back.
Yes P0307, I couldn't find fuel trims on my scanner, now I just threw a P0300 which say multi miss firing. I've decided to take it in to our Corvette Performance Guru here in Indy
to fix my car before we start getting nice weather. I want to thank all Y'all for trying to help this old geezer. At least I know how to change spark plugs on an LS-3 which is easier than my C-4. Ciao

Thanks for the update !!...let us know what your Guru finds !!
This should close this concern out. Took my 09 into Norris Motorsports 660 Andico Unit C, Rd Plainfield, IN phone 407-616 2518. Now the fix in Mikes words.
After checking misfires, pulling the valve covers to verify the valve springs were okay and checking compression (all of these things were good) I then swapped out the coil packs and plugs wires and the miss moved to cylinder 6. Swapped plug wires and coil with #2 and still the miss was on #6.
Started checking the connector at the coil from the coil harness to the main harness. Nothing obvious but I removed the pins for #6 and tightened them up. Put back together and the misfire is gone, should be good to go. I Can't pick it up until tomorrow morning so I will confirm what happened.
I picked up my car this morning runs like a top no AH/TC on the dash, Mike explained again how the pins for #6 apparently were bent and he tightened them and everything went back to normal. It still troubles me how the pins got bent, I know I got on it pretty hard but what's a Corvette for. Fix is Confirmed.
