Hey guys... so I decided this is the year to finally do some suspension upgrades as things are getting a little old and tired and need a refresh anyway. Here's my list so far. Wondering if theirs anything I should add or brands you guys recommend. I'm not on an unlimited budget but I do like to do it once do it right (with the exception of the coilovers, the high dollar stuff is way outta budget for me). So heres my list... what would you guys add/change
-Coilovers (either b/c, silvers or aldans, happy to hear opinions and thoughts on all 3)
-New Bushings (clueless here but I know it needs it so this is def a do it once do it right for me. what do you guys recommend?)
-Sway Bars/Links (don't really need to break the bank here but something over factory GS would be cool, something mid-level maybe?)
-Stainless brake lines (already have a stop tech upgrade I did last year so brakes themselves are solid, just need to update the hardware)
Anything else you guys recommend doing while I have it all tore apart?
I don't plan to track the car but I love some good spirited mountain driving and I may do an autocross or two. We usually make a couple trips a year to TOTD and other areas in Tennessee to just drive and play around. Goal is to make that more enjoyable than it already is. To be fair I'm probably not pushing the car anywhere near the limit of the stock suspension but hey... gotta do something while its torn apart for the winter lol. Let me know what you guys think!
For bushings I did the AFE kit for all control arms. Did Bilstein's at the same time. Took out some of the disconnected "feel" . Probably do sways this spring. Though thinking of coil overs because not sure you can get the body roll out of the mono leaf.
I replaced my F55 mag ride shocks with DRM/Bilsteins, and replaced the stock/base anti-sway bars with Z51 Bars, on my 07 Base. NO MORE Body Roll, and no need for coil overs. Certain members here with far more experience than I have stated that this is a very good combination. I looked for used Z51/FE3 mono leaf springs, with no joy. So I might spring for a new OEM FE3 front leaf spring later this year. Dano says that will fix severe nose-dive ... if I ever get back to the race track. It is the Z51 Bars that eliminate body roll, not the springs. And it is FAR EASIER to replace the shocks if there are no Coil Springs to possibly slip off and kill you.
