Hi All,
There follows my list of upgrades I intend to do this Spring. I would appreciate any comments or input you have. The only comment that doesn't help is telling me to sell it and buy a Z06. :-)
1) Z51 torsion bars front and rear.
2) Best coilovers I can afford all around.
3) Wider tires on new (cooler) wheels
4) Engine oil cooler.
5) Transmission cooler
6) Spoiler or Wing
7) Better seats with harness slots.
8) 5-point Hooker harness with ratchet tightening.
9) Aero package for front, sides and rear.
10) Better brakes
The car is driven on the road and occasionally on the track. I live about 200 miles north of Bowling Green. All original parts will be retained in case a buyer wants it returned to stock. Car currently has 11,400 miles.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Rob

Get a transmission cooler for the 6L80E asap.
LG G2 coil overs only.
Pick your brakes then wheels then tires. Base wheels wont clear big brakes.
+1 on new seats. Vette Works will sell you the electronic harnesses need for new seats.
Lost on why you bought a base, when the Z06 would have been your better option instead (already has most of the options you are installing after market to start with).
Dano,
It all came down to money. I really wanted GS but the difference in price over what I paid for the base was more than $10 Large. I figure I can upgrade the base to something I want for about $5K. My list may be a bit, or a lot, ambitious, but coolers, coil-overs, wheels/tires, and seats/harness are a must. I'm not feeling wanting for power. The LSII is a great motor, and 400 is fine with me.
Thanks for Answering,
RD
The Z51 sway bars are a good mod.
Do consider the rest of Z51: leaf springs, shocks, brakes.
Wider tires or bigger brakes could necessitate Z06 fenders and rims... maybe not on your budget.
Can't comment on coil overs, which aero kit will function for your desires, or the coolers.
But a search will offer you some seat and harness bar options and their installation quirks.
Thanks all for the advice. I have elected to put on Z51 roll bars and Z06 shocks. I'll leave the OEM wheels on and put Perelli P4 tires in 275/18 & 315/19. Then after the Solo and track season, I'll review and consider other mods from there. Engine and tranny coolers are an obvious additional are better brakes but those are many $ in the future.
Thanks Again,
RD
Good idea to keep it simple. This is what happens when you start upgrading a base 2007 C6. All started with a supercharger. One thing leads to another and next thing you know you have a Z06/GS hybrid. Lol
1) Z51 torsion bars front and rear.- If your interested I have a set of GS bars for sale... 2) Best coilovers I can afford all around. -LG G2, trust me its worth it... 3) Wider tires on new (cooler) wheels- no recomendation 4) Engine oil cooler. - no recomendation 5) Transmission cooler - Derale Stack Plate and take the radiator out of the loop (many will argue this but 50k miles on this setup and my trans has never gotten above 180) 6) Spoiler or Wing- prefrence, but cant go wrong with a carbon zr1 7) Better seats with harness slots.- Currently working on this myself, I oppted for the the Sharkbar from vetteworks, Sparco harnesses, and the brey-krause mounting hardware. 8) 5-point Hooker harness with ratchet tightening. see above.
9) Aero package for front, sides and rear.- Just be aware most of this stuff is just for looks, it wont actually improve the areo of the car on any noticeable level 10) Better brakes- unlimited options here, most are fairly pricey, if your on a budget just upgrade pads and rotors, if your not on a budget, c6z brakes/willwoods/stoptech... the options are only as limited as your wallet.
Best of luck... just went to an LG G2 setup with their matching sway bars and its amazing... I lack the testicular fortitude it would take to push it anywhere near the edge now. You'll def enjoy that round of mods!
Gorgeous car! Did you start with a GS or a base? The GS is what I wanted but this 2007 C6 base, 2LT, came up with 10K miles and non-smoker for $21 Large. Felt I couldn't pass it up. Frankly, I don't need more power than the LS2 provides but I'd like better suspension. I used to road race a '74 Carrera RS and got used to good handling. The C6 base is a bit soft for me and just a hint tail-happy. I like some oversteer but the stock suspension seems to make it less predictable. But, I don't know **** as this is my first Corvette.
Beautiful machine,p
