Default C6 2008 DIC Switch Open Connection on IPC

The Options and Trip DIC switches did not work. I figured that the switches were just bad and perhaps I could clean them.
So I removed the Cluster trim ring, as usual the electrical connectors were the worst part by far. None of the videos
went into connector detail;
Start and HUD and DIC are same type, put screw drive in slot and push clip in.
Power Top is just a bump, I pushed switch out and just pushed on bump.
Floor Lite has clip on side.
Temp sensor has tap on side that fits in slot, just bend out.
Anyway the switches were fine, however some of the service manual doc for DIC wiring is wrong for my car;
Brown is Gnd
Yellow is Options
Reset & Trip are swapped.
Ohm'ing out the bad wires they were open circuit. So I looked at the back of a InstrumentPanelCluster on ebay,
the two open circuit wires are on the END of a 10 pin connector that might be the ONLY connector on the car that does not
require a BSME to disconnect, it just pushes in. Removed the IPC, connector was pulled out on one end, see
photo, push back in, BADA BING. Added some red electrical tape to hopefully keep from getting pulled out again.
Just bought the car so do not know when or why. Be curious to

Tilted pulled out connector

Added red tape

Floor Lite Connector

Start HUD DIC all like this

Power Top has bubp

Temp Sensor tabs lock in
know if this is common ?
