Default Transmission Compatibility

Hi there, could anyone confirm if a T56 from a 2007 Z06 would work in my 2011 Grand Sport to replace the TR6060? Thank you.

Why would you do this? The TR6060 is a superior trans......Is there something wrong with the TR6060?

R u mechanically inclined to work on it ur self, if so, its really not that bad. U have bad 2nd gear synchro. 100 bucks. You have nothing to lose if things go south. Depending where u buy ur trans they might want a core. They will still it as long u have all the parts because they have to tear it down anyway.

Physically it'll bolt up. You'll want to research the electrical side of things although it's likely those are fine albeit you may have to change a plug or lengthen a harness.

Do keep in mind the Z06 transmission has taller gears (1, 2, 3) than the GS transmission which will affect acceleration. You'll also need a tune or the speedo will be off. Lastly, the TR6060 is a bit stronger than the T56. This page ====> https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...nsmission.html has some good info and links.

Personally...I'd rebuild the TR6060 unless you need the taller gears and even then, someone like RPM can change those for you.

I need the taller gearing which is why I don’t want to mess with rebuilding mine. Came across a low mileage T56 and figured if it’ll work would be a good option without breaking the bank.
