Default Bill Boat install ?

Just bought a nice 2005 and found a Billy Boat PRT exhaust. Can't seem to get the old mufflers out (not enough room to move them back so the pipe will separate at the x pipe). Do I have to take the x pipe loose too? Already dropped the sway bar. Thanks guys

Yes. X pipe loose will have to be done. Careful of the (donuts) in them.

Thanks! Looks like the x-pipe has to come down to make room...not fun in a driveway. A four post lift looks real attractive right now.....

You can take the hangars off also. They're just a bolt in each one I think. That's how I put my Fusion on this winter.

I did using a QuikJack, same height as jack stands. With the X-Pipe unbolted, I laid on my back with my head near the engine and feet towards the rear, grabbed the X-Pipe and shook the snot out of it while pulling towards the front of the car. Have fun.

Default Exhaust

Removal of the back hangers will help a little but not enough until the x pipe is disconnected. There is not enough room for the OEM over axle pipe removal unless you decide to cut it off.
