Default Check engine light after moving west..

Hey guys. Car is a 09 Z06 with LPE intake, NW MAF, FAST 102, Cam, and headers. I just moved from Georgia to Tucson and hence suffer a downgrade in premium fuel from 93 to 91. I just did my first fill-up of 91 two weeks ago and supplemented with an octane booster (Boostane premium) to get it back up to approx 93 octane since the previous owner had said the car was tuned for 93. After this fill, I noticed the car would idle high when coming to a stop, around 1400 rpm, for about 10 seconds before settling down to the usual 900 rpm, no other weirdness. Today was the 3rd time driving the car since that fill and I got a CEL. I babied the car home and pulled codes and got a P0507 - Idle High Speed ECM, and P0325 - Knock Sensor 1 Circuit. Is that P0325 indicative of an actual knock detection or a fault with the sensor itself? Sure, it's possible that the sensor has failed but I see it as a little too much of a coincidence that it happens after I introduce different fuel to the engine. Anybody have a similar experience in dealing with this? I intend on getting the car dyno tuned to 91 octane soon. Thanks

Yes, you likely need a re-tune for 91 octane gas. But you are also at a different elevation in Arizona than in Georgia and at a much lower humidity so that will affect the car significantly as well.

If E85 is available where you are, it not a bad idea to add a sensor kit to your car as this would help with keeping the power level where it was before.

That code does not mean there is knock, it means there is a malfunction in the knock sensor circuit. e.g. sensor, harness, connector, ecu. Those two issues seem like theyre unrelated? Check for loose connectors and vacuum leaks.

Im in tucson as well. What part of town?

Gotcha, I'll inspect the sensor and look for vacuum leaks. I'm down in the Rita Ranch area.

Ah cool. Im sorta the opposite up in Oro Valley.

The others talking about cordes are kinda right. Cordes is great and if you need a tune, the perfect place to be. But if you've got a minor issue its best to sort it out yourself instead of just immediately going to a performance shop. My 0.02$ Idk if you have any diagnostic tools, but you can check for knock and your LTFTs to see if there are any physical issues present versus maybe something just electrical. Welcome to AZ

I would install a new knock sensor, clear the battery/codes, and see if the CEL comes back. I really doubt the octane booster is causing any issue.

as for the tuning ....maybe you can tune for e85 instead. you will lose a lot of power moving to a 91 tune. it gets HOT so you don't want to run a 93 tune, on 91.
