2007 Air Cleaner Assembly Help Needed

Today I could not pass the California Smog Test because my 2007 LS2 Corvette had an AirAid Cold intake on it. Two years ago I had no problem passing the test, but today I had a service person who would not pass my car. He told me the intake was not CA compliant. I did buy the car with this on, in the state of CA.

I was told the only way to pass the smog test was to put back on the OEM system. Luckily I have all the parts.

On the attached diagram, air intake shield, how is it held in place? It looks like it goes on top of the air cleaner element.

It goes underneath and screws into a spot on the frame ir I remember. Do a search for c6 engine bay and you'll find pics of the set up.

I have an 07 with stock intake. That shield on mine just slides over the airbox and sits there on its own, no fasteners at all, just a friction fit.
