Default swapping/upgrading HUD to C7 version

I've gone from a C7Z to a C6Z and while I'm happy with it, there are 2 things I think the C7 was better at. One was the rev matching (which I plan to correct with an autoblip module) and the other is it had a MUCH nicer HUD. The C6 one looks like an 80s alarm clock. Don't get me wrong, it's better than nothing, but does anyone know if there's a way to swap in a C7 module (obviously can't directly do it) or if someone makes an upgraded, full color one or something like that? Searches both here on this forum and on the Googles haven't yielded me anything except how to just replace the factory HUD (or how to add the C6 HUD to a base model that doesn't have it). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Id imagine it would be easier said than done. Physically id imagine you could make it fit but getting the data feed to it is another thing in itself. You'd need to find out where they source their data from for starters, On the c6 its the cluster, on a c7 I'm not so sure. I have to imagine it receives serial data from a module somewhere in the dash.. Thats going to be your main problem. Most of the info the c6 hud displays is also available in the cluster and DIC... the c7 to my recollection does alot more. Your talking an 8 year jump in electronics from the start of c6 to c7, longer if you count c5 which is basically the same tech as the c6. My main guess would be no its not possible unless you have an electrical engineering degree and alot of time on your hands to figure out a way to integrate the two modules. That all being said I know there use to be a company that sold a kit to change your HUD led color to blue/red/ect... and then you also have dash logic which allows you to display quite a few more parameters in the existing HUD... so theirs options atleast. Where theres a will theirs a way but it wont be an easy endeavor, certainly wont be a cheap one.

Oh for sure, it's not going to be direct plug and play. That's why I was hoping someone made an adapter or a premade kit or something like that. Would use the same info, just display it in a more modern, colorful interface

Im certain nothing exists beyond dash logic. I think with enough will/money/knowhow it could be done but it would be a very involved endeavor. The main problem being I imagine the C6 recieves a digital readout for the cluster where the C7 is probably obtaining serial data from multiple modules throughout the car.

Bah. That's kinda what I figured. Had to ask though. Also didn't know the C5s had a HUD. If it's the same as the C6, that's actually pretty damn impressive for 1997. But yeah, on a 2013, that's 16 year old technology (really 17 if you think about when it had to be developed to make it into the 97 model year). Oh well. I can live with it, was just hoping there was something out there.

I'd def look into dash logic, makes it a little more intuitive atleast. I dont run it myself as I have an Ngauge but its a nice setup

That I can see, doesn't look like they make a HUD. They just replace your gauge cluster and I happen to like the C6Zs gauge cluster. Oh well. Thanks for the tip anyway :-)

the dash logic plugs into your OBD 2 port and essentially opens up the parameters you can display in the HUD and DIC, it doesn't replace the gauges. Heres a good thread on it.
