Recently found this damaged O2 sensor connector.
The connector was laying on the header. It’s the sensor that goes at the collector.
When you put headers on, it seems like the position of the sensor changes and you have to run the wires in a different path. This causes there to not be a hook to hold the connector in place like it would when stock. At least I think that is what has happened. Does that seem right?
Are all 4 sensors the same? It seems like they are. How do most people run the cables and keep this from happening? I didn’t install the headers. There is very little room to get around in there. It seems like I might have to take the header off to re-run the cable. I really don’t want to do that, but I might have to take the header off anyway to fix another issue.
Buy a set of O2 cable extensions, you can clip the end you need off and then splice it on or cut one end off short and splice on the long end then you can route it farther away, you can use the bolts on the tunnel plate to attach cable stays too, this is really not Rocket surgery.
I was able to replace the sensor and found a hole in the frame that the push in plug went into. Seems like it's going to hold. Will find out when I get the power steering pump back in and take it out.
