2.73 rear gears. Standing start is going to suck !
Even the 2.56 gears work fine for launching. The feel of these cars are all to do with the throttle response, which isn't great in stock trim. The easiest solution is a throttle controller which doesn't require you to touch the ECU. Otherwise, I don't think there is anything you can do with a throttle controller that you cannot tune into the ECU, but that takes experience and know how and is generally a lot more expensive than a throttle controller.
Most likely in the tune, a tune wakes up an A6 car drastically if the tuner has any idea of what he is doing. Mine felt like a completely different car after the tune.
