C6 RADIATOR : damaged cooling fins.Should i be concerned?
Hi
Just received this c6 radiiator from fedex from a discount GM dealership. Some of the cooling fins are bent but I am more concerned about the core tubes, they are dented but they don't look punctured. I don't think they will leak but I wouldn't know until I instal it. I c
ould Ijust fill it up and see what happen?. I was thinking of contacting the vendor regarding ther damage. What are your thoughts?
Thanks
Todd
You can test it by using a bicycle tube. Cute and clamp over inlet and outlet. Pressurize to 15 psi and check damaged area with water/ soap. Also measure after awhile and check for loss. Buy tube for a snug fit.
Maybe just me.. But I would get that one swapped out. I wouldn't install it, all I would be thinking each minute while driving,,, is it about to start leaking there,,I wouldn't have any confidence in it. If it were shipping error etc,,, why settle for it damaged, get them to replace it.
If this is supposed to be new, I’d definitely contact the seller/shipper. However it doesn’t look bad to me, I’ve seen worse damage from a few months of road debris and bugs

My IQ is pretty low but this is a no brainer. Once u touch that or any kind of test kiss ur return and refund good buy. What are u thinking return thats it, nothing to talk about why would people even comment on trying to see if it even leaks or is that radiator the last one on this earth and u don't want to go to mars and get another one..
And trust me they will find out if any kind or fluid or strips to hold what ever ur going to try and hold psi to check leak
