Nicely done sir! I did mine about a week or 2 back (I posted a video on here somewhere) and definitely preferred dropping the cradle to messing with the steering rack. I used the power bond replacement. So far so good. Mine had 177K miles on it. Hoping this one lasts just as long :-).

Hey one more quick thing... You may not have this problem/issue but after re-assembly on mine, I had the "service ride control" message on my DIC (F55 model). Apparently, the LF ride sensor had come out of it's socket when I dropped the cradle. Quick and easy fix but... if you have the same issue, FYI so you know what to look for :-). Here's a pic. Sensor attaches to lower control arm and cradle.

thanks for that tip! This is the scary part, what have I screwed up that I don't know about? Yesterday I noticed my steering wheel was turned 90 degrees right when the disks are pointing left. Unbeknown to me qhen I dropped the cradle the steering shaft came out of the socket. I was focusing on the lines and wires in the front. so I need to make sure its aligned when put back together. I keep reading about the clock spring, hope I did not affect it.

Yup! It was your video that got me thinking about doing it this way. Everyone else was pulling the rack. 177 miles is great BTW!

did you pin your ballancer and also heat it up before installing?

Installed! Based on how easily the hb went on i would strongly recommend pinning the crank and to use a jig when drilling the hole.

I have a `09 Z06, will it take the same Summit harmonic balancer? I can't seem to confirm the Summit part number for my application.

edit: I think I answered my own question - the LS3 and LS7 use the same harmonic balancer, the Summit Racing part # SUM-C2501 I believe is the ticket. There is a 10% underdrive available #SUM-C2503, both less than $200.

Thanks,
Craig

I plan to sell the pin jig, crank holder, and a new LS7 ARP bolt soon. I ordered the wrong bolt by mistake - or maybe I wish I had the LS7. The jig will come with a pin (you only need one) and an unused drill bit.
