Default BCM From Newer Corvette

My BCM got wet in my 07 Corvette and it looks like that part is discontinued now. Cultrag has new BCM's for sale but theyre for the 2008-2013 corvettes. Does anyone know if those BCMs will work on the older C6's as long as they're programmed? Or are they completely different?

Welcome to the Forum !!…your best bet would be to drop by your local Chevy dealership and ask someone in the parts department…they would give you the best info as far as part numbers.

I would buy a second hand BCM from a junkyard and be done with it. You sure your BCM is dead?

I took it out and used some rubbing alcohol and baking soda/water mixture to clean the board up. It was corroded at the top left. It fixed the majority of the issues but a couple of times now I’ve had the car not start and no power at all. I would have to take the negative terminal off the battery and put it back on then the car would start. I’m thinking either I need to clean it a little more or the bcm is done.

Oh, you should have dried the board completely before giving voltage again. Boards soak up water, you need to dry it correctly before using it again.

If you aren't in electronics, you can find some shops that will clean & dry it for you. For example: http://www.us-tech.com/RelId/2116467...B_Cleaning.htm

Anyway, second hand BCM would be my choice.

I think you would be looking for the GM Part: 25790451. It should be written on your BCM. You have one for sale on eBay coming from Latvia:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/15531954872...Bk9SR66wuJmwYQ

Where are you based in the US? The BCM above comes from a manual LS2 2007

Call patrick at Cultural and talk to him ... he is more knowledgable than 90 percent of the dealer parts people.

I somehow have the impression that we won't be seeing Mitch again.

By the way I believe the intent was Patrick from Cultrag, cultural is probably the autocorrect kicking in

Appreciate all the input guys, I took the board back out and sanded down a little more corrosion on some of the pins at the top left of the board, rinsed it off again and let it dry really good this time. So far so good, haven't had that random starting issue again.

You know you can pay an electronic shop 100$ and they will stabilize the board for you? Not radioshack, a real shop.

I would still consider getting the second hand BCM because the board is bound to die one day. just FFT.
