C8 tranny in a C6

Back in my circle track days ('65-68) we'd swap later year bodies on the '55 Chevy frame, to run in the "late model" division, to avoid having to build a whole new car.

One of the big benefits in my opinion to the C8 trans is the weight distribution that would come with it. The C8 trans would stick out past the rear axel. This would move more weight to the rear of the car, shifting the balance more rearward. I like a car with a 45 front 55 rear or 40 F 60 R balance. Just because BMW says 50 50 is best, its not The Best.
So yes there is a lot to this "Swap", but there are a lot of potential benefits to it as well.
I have a different motivation than most corvette owners, My car is 90% track, and i have a goal to beat every Porsche GT3 RS on the track. All of those guys have the PDK trans and they chuckle when they see my manual.
My car has a lot of fancy go fast stuff to equal the GT3 RS, but i have this idea that a DCT TR-9080 will fit and work with some smart engineering.

This swap is not for your street car.
If you are a track guy who is looking into a sequential trans swap (on the order of $30k), this C8 trans swap might be a good alternative.
If you rip around on your local streets, this is not for you, I mean unless you have a thick wallet and just want to be different.

Has any actual progress been made in attempting the swap?
I posted about moding a car for racing on a track, and these guys who have never road raced in their life told me how dumb it is, and they will stick with the stock manual trans.
I should have posted this in the track forum... this forum is full of guys who brag about how their car has super low miles, no cosmetic blemishes, and they baby it around town hold the one street race per summer from light to light against a mustang or a civic with their wife in the passenger seat.
