Did some searching (sorry if its been covered) on the matter but couldnt find anything definitive... I have a tune scheduled for the coming month and I would like to go ahead and add the intake manifold just before I drive it to the shop which is 60 miles away, safe to do so? Its been tuned once before to compensate for the cam. I have the NW 103 tb to go on as well but I was going to put in on once I arrived to the shop just to err on the end of caution. Thanks in advance
It will run fine with manifold fitted, maybe stay away from wide-open.
Apparently the NW103 also does not require any specific tuning around min airflow / idle area, so that would probably be ok to fit as well.
Thanks so much for the response especially since i posted this in the wrong section... opps. Yes Ive read the 103 has the same/similar scalar at idle/ or just off idle but wasnt sure that would be ok. I definitely dont plan on doing any romping on it to get it there.
If your tuner is like most tuners, if there is a driveability issue, they won’t fix it on the dyno. Driveability is much harder to get right than power/engine safety. The tuner can make sure that you won’t hurt your new engine, but driveability may come down to you buying HP Tuners and fixing it yourself.

I think his major concern wasn’t the cars street manners after the install pre-tune, but safety. You’d hate to have a bucking and stalling issue on a drive that long, not to mention the safety of the motor itself.
its just me but i'd pay for a lift on a flat bed over to the shop.... all that money, would suck to have something happen half way through the trip then be scrambling to figure out a solution on the side of the highway with 4,000 lb wrecking ***** flying past you at 70 mph...
it shouldn't hurt anything but shouldn't isn't a guarantee...
