Default Tech 2 USB cable driver?

So I purchased this cable below.

my question is what driver do I need? I’m so confused as to where to look, they have drivers on the website here “ Drivers “ FTDI chip. I’m going to be reprogramming my BCM using @Dano523 tutorial linked here BCM flash/Program Dano guide I have the tech 2 clone with the Candi ect. I plan on doing the tech 2 legacy pass thru sub to sps $40 ect.
this wire I ordered off Amazon is throwing me off more than the flashing guide is tho lol.
any direction on the correct baud and FTDI driver ect would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy these at most tech stores. I used them for configuring network switches and routers.

If you can get it work, then that will be a third cable option, verses the two known working RS-232 to usb port cables isntead.

And its kind of funny, since when the tech 2's came out, pretty much every computer had the RS-232 ports. In 2010 when the Tech2 was dropped, and the MDI using TDS took over, the Rs-232 ports where being dropped, in favors of the USB port, or just connected via the either net ports.

The funny part on even the new MDI's, the other side of the USB cables has the old printer type ends to connect to the MDI, which you are hard pressed to even find a current printer that uses that type of cable anymore.

Couldn’t figure out how to get it to work @Dano523 TDS says it communicates, but it also says it does if it’s not even plugged in….so idk what that is about, the FTDI chipset is one of the approved ones on the tech 2 wiki. I ended up just purchasing the one Bosch recommends the
Tripp Lite USA-19HS Keyspan High-Speed USB to Serial Adapter Tripp Lite USA-19HS Keyspan High-Speed USB to Serial Adapter
.
I tried in theory it should have worked, had the drivers installed changed com to 3 and baud to 11520 or whatever it says to do, put tech 2 into bypass and then chose legacy pass thru and nada. I shouldn’t have an issue with new cable….hopefully….I bought tis2000 software hoping it’s a tech 2 driver issue? We’ll see maybe I’m chasing ghosts,
….
In the meantime tho ended up buying a laptop kit and MDI 2 with a bunch of software pre installed, will have two dedicated laptops now I guess, one for diagnostic and one for HP Tuners lol.

Real mid2 from Bosch, or clone mdi2.
If clone, its a MDI 1 with WiFi board soldered on to the unit's board, and does not have the CPU power/ memory power of a real Bosch MDI 2.

Hence if clone, better off with VX GM Nano for $129, and you can build TIS2000 in Vm shell using Win 7 32 bit with 16 bit driver suport turned in the OS, since the current needed VX manger in the shell can be loaded into win 7.

I got the clone one. Pretty solid reviews, the one goat rope garage got seemed to be pretty nice.
as long as it plays nice with TDS and I can finally do this reprogramming I’m gravy. 😂
.
funny thing is the dealerships have all told me you cannot flash a BCM……I watched their AC Delco tutorial showing techs how to do it….I’ll just leave it at that lol.
