Default Clutch issue , please help.

So I’ve recently gotten back into another C6Z. It’s an 08.

I don’t have much info on it as the original owner was base out of California and a dealer brought it over to Florida and now I own it. I’ve got all the paperwork with all the work that was done to it by GM including all of its recalls.

my issue is my clutch engages and disengages way too fast. I barely need to apply any pressure to the pedal. It engages and disengages at the top of the pedal. According to the salesman the previous owner had a twin disc clutch installed by the dealer in California.. not sure if that’s true. But I’m able to get it into first but it’s kind of a mission being I have no slack in the clutch pedal. Every gear after that shifts perfectly and there isn’t any clatter from the clutch.
Clutch pedal is very soft and barely has any resistance.. could this be air in the slave ? There is not remote bleeder and I’ve already done the ranger method clutch fluid exchange. Fluid is clear now and no change in the clutch.. any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks in advance

Any way to find out what clutch was installed?

I have a Monter LT1-S twin disc installed in my car. It has a very short engagement window and is also near to the top of the pedal. But it is also very similar in pedal effort to the stock clutch. But all of this is normal for this clutch.

If what you are describing are all normal for the clutch you have, there really isn't anything that can be done other than learning the clutch.

I hear ya but mine might be way too short of a window. It makes getting 1st gear rolling a challenge. I’m going to try and contact the dealer in cali and give them the repair order number to see if they have any info on it ..
