I removed my exhaust manifolds and had them ceramic coated. I'm putting things back together and I'm wondering if there are torque specs for the nuts on the down-pipe at the bottom of the manifold and where those pipes attach to the tailpipes. I searched the Internet but didn't find an answer so maybe those connections are specified. TIA.
All stock parts ? I would just tighten them up firmly and call it a day. When I did my full exhaust swap that is what I did, no issues at all. I would recommend putting a little anti seize on the threads as well.
Thanks Keppler. That's a great list but the locations I was referring to aren't listed on there. I will keep that list for future work however. In the absence of finding any specs on the pipe nuts I ended up doing what Patsgarage suggested. I probably got them all around 35 pounds feet. I started the car today and there were no leaks so all is well!
I compiled those sheets from the GM Service site 15 years ago when I had access: unfortunately there are some odds and ends that weren't listed in the manuals by group. It's pretty easy to interpolate missing torque by their thread diameter.
The C5 version has an "exhaust" section, might be helpful for estimating even though the faster style is probably different. I can't remember after all of the years and cars that have passed through.
