Default C6 Exhaust smell

I have a 2011 GS that has long tube headers and has been tuned, I still get exhaust smell unless I have A/C on and recirculate, I have been told high flow exhaust cats will help anyone have this problem and solution?

The high flow cats should fix it, if not totally your tuner should be able to adjust your tune

I have the same issue. I have Cam, TSP Longtubes, TSP X pipe (no cats), Corsa extreme, Has been dyno tuned. At idle at a stop sign if the ac is on and NOT on recirculate mode its bad in the car. If I turn the climate control off or have it on recirculate I don't smell it very bad. I thought maybe I had a exhaust leak and bought fancy wide exhaust clamps and it didn't change anything. Be interested to see how much the hIgh flow cats would help

HMMM I am really going to have to look into this. Would a re tune be required after adding the high flow cats?

Don’t believe retune would be required unless you still have smell

If you are currently running without any cats, of course you will have the smell of unburnt gas from the exhaust.

So yes, high flow cats will significantly decrease the smell.

This is why I have my stock exhaust on the car still..... Wife hated my 2000 z28 (cammed, full exhaust, etc) because it smelled bad. Did not want to bring that into the Vette......

I finally found the culprit, or I should say my tuner did, I had exhaust leaks all over and none were welded all had clamps so they dropped headers down and welded all joints and used a Ball and Joint flange from headers to exhaust pipe and relocated my O2 sensors, had one cylinder not firing due to a cracked and arcing plug wire and plug, it still has an odor when started and ran in garage, however the stoplight recirculate for AC no longer needed. Hope this helps! Chief

If ever in Jax FL let me know I can hook you up with my tuner if you need to have it done right the first time.

Ahh Myrtle beach, My grandparents lived in Windy Hill during the summers and back to Marion S.C. in the winter I stayed the summers with them working at the pavilion in Ocean Drive at age 12 thru 15, made decent money as a teenager and a new crop of girls they lived by a putt putt there right on the water. Haven't been there since they pased away.

The glorious Pavilion is unfortunately no longer there. The roller coasters and rides across the street are gone too. much has changed.
