Default C6 Transmission Shudder

Trhansmission shudders sometimes when coming to a stop in 1st Gear. Shudder continues when clutch is fully depressed, but it stops if I shift to neutral. Transmission operates perfectly at all other times. Shudder is like RPM is too low in gear, but depressing clutch pedal does not stop shudder. Shifting to neutral does stop shudder.

no expert, but sounds like clutch is not fully disengaging. have you changed your clutch fluid? how many miles? i think there was an updated clutch cylinder a number of years back, but the usual symptoms is the clutch stuck to the floor. any recent work on your trans or clutch?

That is my first thought too, clutch not fully disengaging transmission from engine. Clutch fluid was at minimum, but filling it had no effect. After filling the reservoir remained at same level, so likely no leak. Fluid did not look correct; too dark. 90,000 miles. No recent clutch or transmission work. Trans & clutch smooth at all other times.

If the clutch is not fully disengaging when pressed to the floor, then you would also experience difficulty shifting from neutral to first gear while at a stop. Do you see that or not?

No. All shifting is normal. The chatter does not occur all the time. So, the symptoms may not yet be fully developed.

Then the clutch may not be the problem. It may be something like a torn motor mount. As you said, it will be easier to diagnose as the symptoms mature.
