Need Tech2 help
Thanks

See if this helps. You are using a candi module with tech2 right?
Also reach out to Dano523 he is a most knowledgeable person when it comes to tech2’s

That being said I decided to take a look at the circuit board on the RCDLR to look for solder breaks. Below is what I found. It looks like the IC chip had a slight melt down and lost a surface mount resitor and a few capacitors. Looking into this IC chip it appears to deal with the antenna aspect which is probably why I was not able to program my FOBS.
I do have a used RCDLR but would need to program it to my cars VIN. Has anybody done this before and give me a few tips? I have the TECH2 and the PC with the TIS2000 software. I just don't know the proceedure for this.
If hand held, does computer have 232 port, or do you need to pick up a Tech II usb cable to connect the hand held to the laptop.
On TIS2000, if this is a copy that you got from me, then USB cable driver is already loaded into the shell. If not and using USB cable for hand held clone, then make sure to install the cable driver into the shell.
If using nano, then should be good to go with Tis2000 once you select the correct device in the program.
As for replacement RCDLR firmware flash, Tis2000 ecm replacement and flash to start with. Go through Tis2000 until you get to the module list, then go to RCDLR module.
Us this to flash in the replacement RCDLR into the car , and make sure to check the box to put the module into learn mode as the same time. Since no fobs will be programmed to the replacement RCDLR after the flash, we need the RCDLR to be in learn mode to program the first fob into it.
Once the RCDLR has been flashed, will see insert fob in the DIC to start programming in the first fob once you press the starter button to acc. Get the first fob programmed in, then use Tech2 win to program in the other fobs. Once that is done, then put the RCDLR into TPMS learn mode, and learn the TPMS to it next with a trigger tool.
I do have a Tech2 clone with TIS2000 loaded on an XP desktop which is currently in my garage. It does has a 232 port.
I'm confused on where to start. From what I understand I need to download the firmware for the RCDLR to to handheld from the PC first and then take the handheld to the car and upload through the car port jack under the steering column. Can you walk me through connecting the handheld to the PC in more detail as I have connectivity issues so I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly. I have the cordset that came with the Tech2 (RJ45 to RS232). From there im not sure of the steps to take. Any chance you know of a link that gives instruction on the use of the TECH2?
I appreciate the help
In not, then will need a usb cable, and will need to load the needed driver for the cable into XP as well.
This link will lead you to the needed XP driver for XP that you can use for the above cable, or the below cable.

With tis2000 loaded in laptop, cable to handheld, handheld to car, and new module installed in the car, start into Tis2000 as replace and flash ecm. Will get to the module list page, select RCDLR, pick the most current firmware file, and make sure to check the put device into relearn mode. once flashed, when you ht the start button, RCDLR will be ready to lean it first fob into slot 1. Get that fob programmed in, make sure to hit the lock and unlock on the fob once you pull it out of the slot, to end the learn mode.
From here, go in with the techII using it tech2win software so you can get the car into ACC mode with a fob programmed to the RCDLR, and program the other fobs that way, then make sure to program the Fobs into the car next. To get the RCDLR into learn mode, E brake up, car in Acc mode, hold the lock and unlock on a programmed fob until the horn honks, trigger the TDMS in the correct order, and once the last TPMS is learned, car wil honk twice.
If you need more help, PM with a real name and phone number (click on my name to send me a PM) and I can talk you through it.
As for this, looks to be water damage, and not that hard to repair it.
If that is the only damage to the board and don't have the skill to repair it, pick up the shipping costs back and forth to me, and you more than welcome to send it to me so I can repair it for free. The dead give away that you have major water damage, will be the orange sticker, and it if still there, and if it changed color or not as well.
