Default 2007 automatic shift issues

After pressing the start button, randomly I am unable to shift out of park. This does not happen everytime and sometimes after starting I hear a click and can then shift into neutral or drive. No one seems to know the cause of this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's the micro switch in the front of the shifter assembly the problem. Most of the time, can bend the arm on it more outwards to solve the problem.

In the mean time, put your foot on the brake, then push forward on the shifter lever first to press the micro switch harder, and this should active the release..

I had this happen to me. Super frustrating! I took my console off and wired the damn thing back! It never gave me a problem again!

I am the owner of the 07 shift issue question that my friend Rnb 07 asked starting this thread. I appreciate the answers given and I joined this forum to get more info on this problem. The question I had was the location of the switch which I see was already answered.
The question now is there any detailed info on how to remove the console to get to the switch?

There are videos on Youtube that show the details.
