Default Ac help

I replaced my AC compressor and condenser a few weeks back. You tubes many videos on how to charge AC. Bought gauge set and vacuum pump.
Pulled vacuum let it set for about an hour. No leaks.
Added refrigerant with dye, no leaks. Air was not cold, maybe about 75 or so, outside temps were about 80’s.
Well it’s the 90’s now and it is not cold air.
Compressor kicks on, thermostat down the vent. I hooked up a gauge in-line with a can of refrigerant thinking maybe I was low. It was high. I opened up the bolt at the bottom of the condenser to let some escape, checking the gauge. Few times u til in the green, car running at 2000 rpm, air blowing not cold air again, I. Fact hot, like 90 degree F.
I am a noob at this, see pic with gauges hooked up to low and high sides with car running, fan on high AC on, 2000 rpm

any ideas?

When you checked this what was the relative humidity and temp ??…you have to know this to diagnose the high and low side pressures…without looking at a chart it looks like your low side looks high and high side looks low…can be bad compressor or undercharge…you have to put the exact amount of refrigerant in…since you changed the compressor did you add any PAG oil to the new compressor also ??…it is BEST to leave AC work to an AC shop especially since you said you’re a “noobie” !!…where did you buy your compressor??

I looked at your chart. When I checked it yesterday (Chattanooga, TN), it was about 87 F, and humidity about 70% (ick!) .
The compressor came with PAG oil ( 5oz) labeled with a sticket, and I researched this is the amount needed for a C6. Here is a link to the compressor on Amazon (it is the same unit I was going to buy on rockauto, just arrives faster from Amazon):

When I added the R134A orignally, it seemed to take a long time to expel the refrigerant ( like about 30-45 minutes), which did not seem right. I read that it needed 1.1 lb, and I kind of guessed based on what was labeled on the can. How would you know exactly how much you have put in the system?

I wouldn’t buy anything like a compressor from Amazon…Rock Auto has a GM for $375.00 and even a Delphi who was the ‘05 OE supplier would have been a good choice so you get what you pay for so you don’t cheap out on these kind of parts…your capacity is 1.4 pounds or 22.4 oz’s and where did you get your number from ??…anything over a small can if that’s what you are using is to still use an electronic scale…it’s 2 Oz short of 2 cans if your cans are 12 oz’s and starting with no refrigerant in the system.

A weak compressor will not suck in the refrigerant very well and it will cause the pressure differential between the high and low side to be small like what you have. If the refrigerant is not being sucked in quickly, you can imerse the can in a pot of warm water to help it to evaporate faster. If it still doesn't leave the can quicly then the problem is most likely the compressor. A half an hour to load in one can of refrigerant is not normal.

How much Freon did you actually add? I’m betting the compressor clutch isn’t actually kicking in by what the gauges are reading. Once it kicks on, the low will drop and the high will rise. It could be undercharged still. Thermometer in the vent should be reading around 40ish degrees. It should take roughly 18 oz of Freon.
