Default No Fuel Pressure

Hey I’m new to the website and corvettes so hopefully I can get some help with this.

I have a 07 corvette z51 A6 and I dropped the trans to replace the passenger side fuel pump that was throwing a code. I now have the new fuel pump installed and when I got to start the car it does not start. There is no fuel pressure at the rail so I tested the driver side fuel pump to see if it was working and it was not all of the sudden. I replaced that one as well put the fuel system up and still no fuel pressure. The thing is I don’t hear the fuel system priming at all when I turn on the accessories. I took the driver side down and cranked the car and fuel did come out of the hoses so I’m completely lost on what it could be. The brackets on the inside of the tank of the return line did break but I seat the crossover tube in there properly and put it back in the tank so I’m not sure if it could be that.
Sorry if this isn’t really clear like I said I am new here and I’d appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks

I don't know of a passenger side fuel pump but if you have a 12 volt test light you can easily see if you have an issue at the fuel pump relay...is the in line connector connected inside the left rear wheel well ??

i do not have one but I can pick it up and see if that’s the issue. If you mean the connector that goes to the top of the fuel pump. Yes it is connected. I’ll try the test light tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Thanks

I was just about to double reply and ask you that. Should all the little inserts that the prongs go in light up?

No, I’ll explain how you test it tomorrow…also see if you can make yourself up a jumper wire that will connect between 2 of the relay terminals…a thin paper clip can also work…a video below that can help too.

This is the wiring !!…also an incandescent test light (with a bulb) is better than an LED for this testing.

ok so i watched the video and I do remember now when I was jumping the wire to see if the fuel pump would start nothing would happen but it does work when I crank but still no fuel pressure. Would that be a problem with the computer. I will be trying out the test light when I get home from work today. Thanks

This is what you can check when you get your test light... Refer to my hand drawn diagram.

1) Remove the relay and you don't want to stick the end of your test light into the slots if the test light has a thick probe end...find something thinner.
2) Connect test light to ground (connect it to B+ and make sure it works) and probe terminal 30...the test light should illuminate...power comes from B+ through fuse #20.
3) Now you will somehow need to probe terminal 85 (coil side feed) while you go to "IGNITION" mode with the car...not ACC mode...hold the starter button down for 5 seconds...now see if the test light illuminates for 2 seconds and goes out.
4) Now connect test light to battery POSITIVE...probe terminal 87...test light should illuminate...this tests the circuit from the fuse box through the inline connector in wheel well through the fuel pump windings and then to ground...light should illuminate.
5) Now check terminal 86...the is the coil side ground G102...test light should illuminate.
6) Why I wanted you to use a test light is because there is a bias voltage on terminal 85 and if you used a voltmeter you would still see 12 volts after the 2 second prime...you would think you have an issue but this is normal with a DVOM…picture below is voltage after 2 seconds.

ok sorry for the edit I read your instructions wrong. So steps 1-3 work and when I get to step 4 the light does not turn on. This must mean something is not grounded correct? Or would it be something else

Check to make sure the fuel pump ground by the left rear tire on the frame rail is connected and no I didn’t know that the trans was out…as you can see in the OE wiring there are 3 connectors denoted by a “C” that may not be plugged in !!

I do have the ground connected. I assume those connectors connect to the trans or another sensor to complete the circuit. I will check today when I get back from work to see what I can plug them back in to

Then you’ll have to check all those connectors…looking at the wiring C184 is up by the battery so that wouldn’t be it…most likely the other 2 !!…the connectors are numbered as the further you go back the numbers go up…100 connectors are up front and 400 are near the back.

ok so I connected the wires to the axels and I still have my trans and ground hooked up but still nothing. Am I missing a connector somewhere?

do you think the fuel pump could just be bad? While running through your test again I got a check fuel system indicator and I got a code p0463
