Hello,
There is a short in my courtesy lamp circuit, because as soon as I out a 10A fuse in at the BCM, it blows immediately. I have a 06 A6 if that matters.
Could you please help me where to start?
I've already checked all the bulbs inside, but all of them are fine. Btw, my hood lamp's wiring and connector is not connected anywhere, just hangs from the hood. I couldn't find the connector that it plugs into. Oh and I don't have the outside temp sensor too, nor the wiring.
A bulb will not cause the fuse to blow...you have a direct short to ground !!...the wiring is from an '07...if you see the 3 wires at the upper left they supply voltage to each of the courtesy lamp circuits...if you know how to "depin" those BCM connectors I would add each one back one at a time until the fuse blows...you then have to see what lamps are on that circuit...you will then have to follow each wire down from the BCM until you may see a bare wire somewhere in that wiring that is chaffing the body...not easy with this circuit !!

Thank you, excellent idea!
Yes, I've just finished a project with wiring my custom EU turn signal wiring back to stock in the BCM, so I got familiar with the connectors and pins there a little more than I wanted lol
Since I don't find the under hood lamp wiring's other side I feel like it's torn and shorting the body somewhere.

I had a look at it, and there is only 1 orange wire coming out of the C3 connector at the BCM, which is the courtesy, but I don't know where it splits to three. Any ideas?
