Thanks Rob (C5 Diag) for giving my C6 a scan check-up today. Rob really knows his stuff and has all of the latest diagnostic tools.

It's nice to have a diagnostics guy around instead of guessing and changing parts. That gets expensive in very short order.

Mike, my pleasure !!…so your battery and charging system are fine…you have the correct OE lead acid battery and not an AGM (01-03 Z06 OE was AGM) which can cause charging system issues because the charging strategies are different on those 2 types of batteries as far as the ECM is concerned…we had a full electrical load on the car and your battery was charging at a steady 13.8 volts…hardly any voltage drop on the positive and negative battery connections…if you did see your voltmeter drop momentarily to 12.5 volts that voltage doesn’t come from the battery directly but from the Ignition 1 voltage circuit…the cars voltmeter will always read about .3 to .4 volts lower than the battery…if you want to swing by next weekend I can swap out your battery cable terminals with those better ones !!

My hat's off to him as well!
Infinitely greater patience explaining diagnostic stuff here on the forum than I have....
