Default Dic not showing incorrect voltage

Alternator and battery showing 14.1 volts with multi meter when cold or at normal operating temperatures. DIC shows 14.1 on startup and drops to 13.5-13.7 volts as engine warms up. Anyone encounter this problem and did you find the answer.

Voltmeter and DIC will always show lower voltage than battery…voltage comes from Ignition 1 circuit of IP so it will go through some circuits before getting there…on C5’s the same way…about .4 volts lower as you can see below…there will be some voltage drop along the way between the battery and IPC.

Why Does DIC show 14+ volts on cold start and then continuously drops the warmer the engine gets

But thank you for the explanation. First time I have seen the volt meter at 13.6 in the 16+ years I have owned the car

During cranking the battery voltage drops so the charging voltage will be higher until the battery get charged back up as the engine warms up.
