I have a 2008 convertible with U3U audio option [ the combined nav/radio/CD player with the fold down front] and the U65 7 speaker option. The radio and CD appear to operate but there is no sound whatsoever. It's as though the system is muted. But I don't know how to diagnose if the problem lies with the head unit or the Bose amplifier. All the bongs and dings work, so I think it's probably not the amp. So, can someone please detail how I can work out if the amp is good or not?
Thanks in advance. Andy
Bongs and dings are pushed through the head unit from the BCM, the bose amp,and to the center speaker (which muting the radio will not turn these off).
So on that note, sounds like you just have the radio muted, and need to unmute the radio to solve the problem.
What radio, since if oem, this should be easy to show you where the mute button is. Hence disc radio, or nav oem unit ?
Hi Dano
It's the nav/radio/CD unit. There is a button in the middle at the bottom, and when you press the button the screen folds down, and exposes 2 disc slots. One slot for audio, one for a Nav disc. Assuming I haven't somehow muted the radio, what I really need to know is how to eliminate either the head unit, or the amp.
