I've got a crazy issue with the start button on my 2011 ZR1. When you turn the car off, get out of the car as soon as you close the door the green start light comes on. The light seems to stay on for 10 minutes and there goes out.
I used the search function and could not find anything related to this issue.
I've found if the FOB is close to the B pillar when you shut the door it happens to me...if you hold the FOB away from the B pillar where the antenna resides (below) when shutting the door see what happens.
Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work. I even tossed the fob a few feet away from the car and it still does it. Once back from Carlisle I guess it will be dealer time.
You jinxed me...LOL !!...mine started acting up too...I closed the drivers door while it was running and shut the shut the car off from the passengers side and then closed the door and that seemed to work...let me check some of the inputs with my scan tool and see what's happening....has to be a driver door input possibly but maybe not.
Sorry for the jinx! This issue with mine showed it's head a year ago intermittently and then when away. Any help would be very cool since most dealerships really don't do well a diagnostics..
Didn’t see anything with the scan tool….even though the green light was on the scan tool showed my “power mode” as being “off and awake”…but not in RUN mode as you would normally see…I just disconnected both battery terminals and will do a “cap discharge” touching both battery terminals together and see what happens…I’ll look at the Mode Switch wiring too…did you try shutting it down from the passenger and them closing the passenger door as I suggested ??
When back to the car after it was sitting for over an hour.
Both doors were shut and no lights on the Start Button.
Open the drivers door and the Off light came on.
Press the Off, ACC came on, pushed OFF and all lights were off on the Start Button.
Shut drivers door and Green Start light came on.
Went to the Passenger side, opened the door and hit the OFF button, all lights off, shut door. Green light stayed off.

Going to try the battery touch trick,

Cap discharge didn’t work !!….don’t know if you EXACTLY did it this way but… start the car…leave it running…get out of drivers side and go over to passenger and shut it down from that side…see if the red off light comes and stays on and green light is off…it looks if this is how you did it…will look at the mode switch and BCM.
I can turn the car completely off from the pass. side with the Dr. door closed. This works if car is riding or if the car is off and the Green light has come back on when the Dr. door is closed.
I'm lost! BUT - knowing I can lock the car from the pass. door this weekend makes me feel better.

Sorry that answer may be confusing. The car responds just like it show but only from the pass. side. Red light comes on, close door and red light is on for a few seconds and goes off. After that I get no lights.

I’ll hopefully get this figured out tomorrow…driver side no good…passenger side good !!
Going dark here for a few days to visit Carlisle. I'll check next week.
Thanks for all your help;
John
Cool !!…while you’re there Paul Koerner AKA “The Corvette Mechanic” will be doing some “drive through” diagnostics…he’s very sharp…maybe he will have some insight so sign up !!
