Default Lifting engine

Doing the oil pan. Dropping cradle. Can I jack engine at bellhousing? Trying to avoid removing leaf spring but cannot access HB with it in place.

I searched and read most past posts. I don't have an engine hoist and some mention raising at the HB without removing the leaf spring.I don't see how I can access the HB with the spring in place. I read that raising the engine at the bell housing may be an option but it is not mentioned that often. So consensus, bell housing?

Yeah, you'll be fine but you're not jacking it up but rather just preventing it from falling.

Use a short section of 2x4 to spread out the load when you place the jack underneath.
