2008 Auto Shift Knob Removal

2008 Auto Shift **** Removal
I need to remove the above to get my centre consul out to replace my radio. I think I should be turning a collar below the **** clockwise until it stops, and then pulling up on the ****. Have I got this right? I initially thought that once I had turned the collar until it stops that I would then be able to slide the collar down to expose a screw, but I don't think that's the case. Any advise, or links would be much appreciated.

You don't have to remove it to get the console off.Just wrap a towel around it so tou don't scuff the leather when removing the cosole.Put the shifter in S to give you a little more room.
