How would i know if i have a bose system if the head unit and door cards have been replaced (no bose logo on speaker grills in the front)? im trying to figure out if what ohm load is there and if the current speakers are running off an amp already. where would the bose amp be? thanks in advance.
Bose system, is not the head unit, but in fact just uses the speaker outputs of the oem radio, as the inputs to drive the amp instead.
As for bose amp and its sub woofers, first thumpers had their own amps in the speakers, with the bose amp just sending a signal, while later units did not have amps in the thumpers, but driven by the amp isntead.
As for bose amp, only the two 3.25" speakers in the doors are stereo, with the center dash speaker, the thumpers in the doors and the rear speakers mono (for fill) instead.

so ive determined that it isnt a bose. how many channels are there, and what is their orientation? 4 channel f/b l/r, 2 channel f/b or 2 channel l/r, or, like you said: 3.5s l/r and everything else mono? would that mean center and the other 4 speakers are all ran off the same channel? are they getting both the l/r signal? im so confused lol. please help!

I got some dual 4 ohm 8" drivers for the bottom of the doors, which I quickly realized needed aftermarket brackets to work, which I've ordered. And I got some 3.5" speakers for the upper door. They only have two mounting tabs and when they are tightened down, there is a gap around the rim of the speaker. It seems like the only way to make them flush is to either cut down the posts or add a really thick gasket. According to crutchfields, they are a direct replacement. Any suggestions?
