Default Trunk Lid Pull Down Motor Kit

That is the description GM calls the motor unit that pulls down and latches the Tonneau Cover on C6 Convertibles. The GM Part# is 25809368.
I need this unit for my 2008 and the dealership can't seem to locate one. I'm hoping someone will have a source for this item. They replaced the control module but now saying the motor itself is bad and won't latch the Tonneau cover to complete the opening and closing of the top.
This is a pic of the unit.

Look at the Dorman part 16889150. It might be compatible

There's a couple of part numbers in this thread that were successfully used. There are quite a few other threads if you search.

take a look at this https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/20...motor_kit.html

There was probably nothing wrong with any control module --- but I'm sure there will be a high charge

Don't know whether the control module was bad or not but it was replaced and yes it was expensive.

That PartsGeek price is super for a new out-of-stock everywhere part. Say they have 7 in-stock, but highly doubtful. Someone that needs one should try to purchase and let us know if this is fact or fiction and report back.

That looks like the unit but different part#. The part number Chevrolet gave me is 25809368. It fits all C6's from 2005 to 2013

Probably an internal inventory part number. The pictured unit is correct. If you need one you should try to order and call them to discuss the difference in part numbers. Their return policy states you cannot return an opened box of electrical parts. Again, willing to bet it is not in stock. Still worth the call, because the plastic on these fail often and are in high demand.

It is used by both the convertible and the coupe (soft close feature on the hatch). I believe there were some coupe models that did not feature the hatch soft close feature.

The Dorman p/n-747-000 is correct for this installation however you may or may not get the plastic gear that goes into the assy with your order depending on where you buy it. I ordered 2 ea from Amazon and both were missing the plastic gear. I called Dorman tech to find p/n for just the small plastic gear and was advised Dormanf p/n-926-135 is just the small gear. Dorman said the 747-000 is on back order and not projected to be in stock for 60 days. This same motor assy is used in a bunch of GM cars.
