Default Headlight issues

Bought new headlights (husband bought from eBay) found out that whoever rebuilt our car did a poor job at the wiring. Had wires replaced by a technician. Found out that the lights don’t work and neither do the new ballasts that we bought for them. Everything is correct. How can both sets not work at all even after having our front end wiring replaced? Had no issue with putting new taillights in. They’ve checked the fuses and everything. But say both the headlights and ballasts are defective. Could this be a BCM issue? We’ve already had it at the dealership and had it reprogrammed since apparently you can no longer get a new one for a 2006 C6 Corvette. I’m at a loss here. I’m tired of having to buy parts and then having to send them back because they don’t work. Anyone know where we can get a brand new BCM? We’ve tried but always get the answer that they’ve been discontinued and have to send it off to be reprogrammed but no guarantee that it will work. Also unfortunately this was a water damaged car. But everything else seems to work fine.

Buying headlights from EBay may be your problem !!…if you cheap out you’ll be spending twice the amount of money than sticking with an OEM part…highly doubt it’s a BCM problem…find an auto electric shop in your area and take it there.

Do the old lights work if you re-install them?

we’ve taken it to an auto electric technician shop. That’s where it is now. He’s replaced the wiring in the front to the lights and we bought new ballast and they still don’t work. Neither the lights nor the ballasts. So I’m sending those back along with the lights and going to try the factory lights with new ballasts that I’ll be ordering. We’ve had issues out of the BCM already and had it reprogrammed by our local GM dealership. But it’s still got grimlins. Just wondering if it’s the BCM causing the this issue.

Not with the new ballasts that I bought. But they may be defective. They did before with the old ballast that was in them. Well one headlight worked. But the wiring had to be replaced on the front end. So I’m hoping that once I get the more expensive ballasts that both original headlights work. He will just have to settle for the original headlights until we can afford to buy the name brand Morimoto headlights like he wants.

I’d send those crappy parts back and head over to your local dealership and buy some OE ballasts and whatever else you need…stay far away from Amazon and EBay parts !!
