I had lost mine when replacing the clutch master cylinder. Pulled the bolts at the bottom of the fender out and flexed the fender out and the clip fell out to my surprise! I removed the washer fluid tank to give me better access, and loosening the bottom of the fender helped in that regard.

I try to save leftover 'stuff' like that when I do any work... just for those occasions.
I might have one in my box of misc clips.
If someone can post a picture/drawing with dimensions, I'll look through it.

And, just by chance... anyone here have a shift rod detent spring for a 944 gearbox?
